What is Biophotonics?
Quantum physics has proven that everything is energy and light. The human body, plants and all living creatures emit visible light waves. Seen through sensitive cameras, we literally glow. Biophotonics is the scientific study of the relationship between light, energy and the human body. Placing emphasis on the importance of light and energy in sustaining life. The term biophotonics is made up of two Greek words: “bios” and “phos”. “Bios” means life and “phos” stands for light.
What is Biophotonic Glass?
Sun and sunlight play an important role in our daily life. Sunlight is enormously important for growth. In fact, there is no life possible without light. This same light that initially made growth possible also accelerates the process of molecular decay. As soon as plants, for example, are ready for harvesting, they must be used immediately or preserved efficiently. If they are exposed to sunlight after being gathered, then decomposition may take place and this drastically reduces the level of bio-energy in the plant. It is believed that this process of decomposition is due to the radiation from the visible light.
Biophotonic glass, also known as Miron or Violet glass, is a type of deeply coloured, almost opaque glass which is energised by light and has outstanding capabilities of preserving substances contained within for extended periods of time.
Biophotonic glass naturally filters the spectrum of visible sunlight, only allowing through Infra Red and UVA light, or ‘violet’ light. This unique combination offers optimal protection against the ageing processes that are released by visible light, therefore protecting and maintaining the quality of premium and sensitive substances.
The appreciation people have for the special protective qualities of violet glass can be traced back to ancient Egyptian civilization. Even then, valuable essences and healing products were kept in gold and violet glass containers. However, the advancing industrialization and the emergence of new packaging materials meant that violet glass faded into obscurity during the last hundred years.
Miron Glass Development
In 1995, after years of research work, the Swiss scientist Yves Kraushaar developed MIRON® Glass. The secret of this special glass is based on the fact that the molecular structure of any substance is permanently activated and energized by “violet life radiation”. This also explains the violet glass’s high natural preservation capacity.
A microbiological experiment with cherry tomatoes was done to confirm, more simply, that violet glass better protects the bio-energy of food. The most significant differences were detected when the products were stored in clear glass versus violet glass. Therefore, Dr. Hugo Niggli bought cherry tomatoes and bottled them individually in a clear-glass and violet glass apothecary jar on the 22nd of June 2007. The tomatoes were then stored at room temperature in an apartment.
On the 22nd of December, exactly half a year later, a microbiological change judged as mold was observed in the cherry tomato stored in the clear glass bottle. A month later, after 7 months, on January 21st 2008, the result of this biological experiment was photographed. For this purpose, the cherry tomatoes were taken out of the bottles and the microbiological changes of the tomatoes stored in both bottles were photographed. The cherry tomato stored in violet glass retained its red color and had not dried out, contrary to the tomato stored in clear glass.
Compared to the traditional colours in glass packaging.
